The Civilian Population - 19th Century Public Living History
Our Living History Project encourages impressions of the civilian population in Queensland in 1888. Civilian roles are an important expansion of our existing impressions and add further depth to our living history encampments. Themes to be explored may include social activities (eg visiting military encampments, picnicing, sporting events); trade displays (bakers, carpenters, teachers, police, medical personnel, tailor or seamstress) and community roles (eg religious entities, benevolent or political associations etc) - all depicting snapshots of life from that time. There are no restrictions on age for civilian impressions.
